What is IQ.Web?IQ.Web is an Internet software system designed to provide faculty, students, administrators and other members of the MCNY learning community with "anytime, anywhere" access to information services. The information which IQ.Web provides is official MCNY administrative data, stemming from the same database utilized by the MCNY administrative software system.
User requirements include a PC or Mac with Internet connectivity and a standard Web browser (Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, FireFox 1.0 or higher). Internet Explorer 6 is strongly recommended, since IQ.Web is optimized for this browser.
Your browser must also have cookies and Javascript enabled in order for IQ.Web to work properly. Most users will have both of these already enabled in their browser by default, since without them few web sites would function as expected.
Before following the directions given here for enabling cookies and javascript, simply try a few links while you are logged into IQ.Web. If you don't get any error messages or strange results, you're already set up to begin using IQ.Web.
What's New in IQ.Web: Those faculty members already familiar with IQ.Web who are looking for what's new and exciting as of January 30, 2007, go directly to My Courses: Course Setup: Activities Tab: Grading Options to learn about Grading Methods, creating and editing Grade Activities, uploading Grade Activity Media, controlling access to Grade Activities, entering activity grades for automatic final grade computation, copying entire Course Setups to a future offering of an existing course, and setting up a Private Course Forum for each of your courses.
Also new in January, 2007 is the Activities Tab in Gradebook, where grades for quizzes, tests, papers, exams, etc. are entered into the database, enabling IQ.Web to automatically calculate each student's final grade based on the grading method you have elected and each student's grade in each of the grade activities for the course. For this new material go directly to My Courses: Gradebook: Gradebook Activities: Activities Tab.
New features were also implemented last year on November 10, 2006. Go directly to My Courses: Course Home Pages: Overview to learn about activating a Course Home Page for each of your courses, emailing students with attachments, and uploading Course Related Media for viewing and download by all class members.
