What is IQ.Web?IQ.Web is an Internet software system designed to provide students, faculty, administrators and other members of the MCNY learning community with "anytime, anywhere" access to information services. The information which IQ.Web provides is official MCNY administrative data, stemming from the same database utilized by the MCNY administrative software system.
User requirements include a PC or Mac with Internet connectivity and a standard Web browser (Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, FireFox 1.0 or higher). Internet Explorer 6 is strongly recommended, since IQ.Web is optimized for this browser.
Your browser must also have cookies and Javascript enabled in order for IQ.Web to work properly. Most users will have both of these already enabled in their browser by default, since without them few web sites would function as expected.
Before following the directions given here for enabling cookies and javascript, simply try a few links while you are logged into IQ.Web. If you don't get any error messages or strange results, you're already set up to begin using IQ.Web.
Note: Although your official MCNY email is called “IQMail,” it is completely separate from IQ.Web, has its own separate login, and is handled by a different Administrative Dept. (If you change your IQMail password and cannot remember it, or have any other help request regarding IQMail, please contact HelpDesk@mcny.edu, ext. 3005).
What's New in IQ.Web: Those students already familiar with IQ.Web who are looking for what's new and exciting as of January 30, 2007, go directly to My Courses: Course Home Pages: Grade Activities to learn about access to graded activities (such as quizzes, tests, papers, exams, etc.) currently scheduled for each course, along with your grade for each activity once it has been entered. The Grade Activities Table on each Course Home Page also indicates whether an activity has a file attached to it for you to view online or download. You can also turn in assignments as email attachments as required for certain grade activities.
Also new in January, 2007 is a Private Course Forum for each of your courses, enabling students to post questions and replies, and generally communicate interactively in both asynchronous and real-time online exchanges with classmates and faculty. For this new material go directly to My Courses: Course Home Pages: Course Forums: Overview.
New features were also implemented last year on November 10, 2006, go directly to My Courses: Course Home Pages: Overview to learn about a Course Home Page for each of your courses, from which you can email fellow students and your professor with attachments, and view and download Course Related Media.
